We were not told this up front. They did deliver buckets of water to flush the toilets, and the apt. owner did let us take a shower on Sunday at one of his other apts. He claimed that he was not told that the apt. wasn't going to have water that weekend. Then the day the cleaning lady came, my headphones disappeared....along with some of the kitchen utensils that I had used the day before. The apt. owner refused to believe that the cleaning lady could have taken it since he had never had trouble with her before. We told him we didn't trust her and the apt. security and wanted to move out a couple of days early into a hotel, but he refused to refund us any money. He did not offer to make any amends to my missing headphones either, neither did ByT Argentina. We moved to the PanAmerican Hotel anyway and paid out of pocket just to feel safe. I definately would not recommend renting this apt. nor would I recommend this company. If you go to Argentina pay the extra to feel safe in the PanAmericana Hotel. It's the best!regc80https://www.blogger.com/profile/13415023334681081148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20660264.post-70379928959354412722007-04-04T17:16:00.000-07:002007-04-04T17:16:00.000-07:00I have stumbled into your travelblog from the poli...I have stumbled into your travel
blog from the political blog. I
have enjoyed both.

My take on renting is different.
I visited Barcelona for two weeks
and rented an apartment. There were
a number of problems with this for
someone who is not fluent in
spanish and who travels alone.

First, it is very isolating. There
is no one to talk to or to ask
question. Most hotels have front
desk staff that speak at least some
english. I had a good time with
the guy who manned the night desk
in Siena Italy once. He spoke a
little english, I speak a little
Italian and he had an Italian
English dictionary.

The second issue is that there is
no one to help you. This can range
from restaurant reservations to
getting transportation to the
airport for an early morning
flight.

In contrast to your experience, I
had a good experience with the
person I rented from, although
they told me up front that they
did not take a credit card, only
cash. The person I rented from
was very nice, very honest (well,
unless you're the Spanish
tax people). The apartment was
very nice. But I would not do it
again for the reasons above.

Ianwintermute128https://www.blogger.com/profile/12771257918729296053noreply@blogger.com
